My Adventure To Beautiful Bali

*Pic heavy post*

If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I recently went to the beautiful island of Bali.

I have never been on a long haul flight before, I have also never travelled alone so this was a massive deal to me. My boyfriend was already in Bali (a holiday he had booked before we met) and I wanted to visit him, so a few weeks before he left I bit the bullet and booked a flight.....all by myself - scary for someone who is usually an anxious mess!

I chose to fly with Emirates, I wanted an airline I could trust and I would be well looked after on, which I certainly was! I will write about the flights and flying alone in a separate post, it was an experience in itself, lets just put it that way - good and bad!

Denpasar Airport

Luckily for me, my boyfriend had already been to Bali and knew the island quite well so I knew I would be in safe hands. I landed on New Years Eve and we were staying in a place called Kuta, it was absolute madness, everyone was out for New Year, I mean EVERYONE. It was very overwhelming especially as I was already feeling slightly weird from all the excitement, nerves and tiredness after long ass flights (yes I had to get 2 flights - a total of 16 hours), but I had an even bigger surprise to come.....

I GOT ENGAGED!!!!!

Yes, that's right, this amazing human being asked me to marry him at 00:00am on Monday the 1st of January 2018 - just wow!!!!!

Anyway.....if that wasn't enough, we went on to have the most amazing holiday I have ever experienced. As someone who hasn't been further than Egypt, and my usual go-to place would be Greece, this holiday was more than a holiday, it was an experience, an adventure.

I took so many bloody pictures, like a ridiculous amount, so I have tried to condense them for you to share this beautiful part of the world.

Kuta Beach - Ubud - Tegallaland Rice Paddies - Kanto Lampo Waterfall

Tegallalang Rice Paddies

There is literally so much to do and see, for the 8 days I was there we did a mixture of everything that  we could in the short space of time we had.

My (now) fiance had got a bike for us so we could go anywhere and everywhere - highly recommended, but it's not for the faint hearted, the roads are absolutely mental, bikes absolutely everywhere, imagine grid lock on the M6 with basically just bikes - this is no exageration!!!

We visited historic temples, which are scattered in the most weird and wonderful places across the island, we also visited beautiful secluded waterfalls, iconic rice paddies, pristine beaches, modern beach bars, rustic bars and more......

The beaches are beautiful and surrounded by luscious green trees and forests, it's something I have never experienced before, and the Indian Ocean.....is like stepping into a warm bath - absolutely incredible!

More importantly, we ate and drank a variety of amazing things - obviously very important when you are on holiday!

But, the most amazing and breathtaking thing for me was watching the most incredible sunsets I have ever seen, with my best friend by my side. From sitting on the beach on bean bags with a bottle of beer and a live band playing, to walking round a temple at sunset taking in all of the stunning views.....

There is so much I could tell you about Bali, but this post would be stupidly long, the main thing to know is that is an amazing part of the world and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I CANNOT wait to go back there as we only saw a small part of it. It was literally the best holiday I have ever been on but next time I will not be flying alone, I will be with my fiance!

Have you ever been to this beautiful part of the world?

*Thank you Martin for making me the happiest girl in the world*
