FOOD REVIEW: Reds True BBQ Liverpool

If you read my blog regularly, or follow my Instagram, you will know that my boyfriend is a vegetarian. At home we don't eat meat, just because it's easier than cooking different parts of meals and since I have discovered Gousto (REVIEW HERE) I've realised vegetarian dishes are incredibly tasty! However, every now and again I need some meat and my boyfriend luckily knows this, so recently he treated me recently to a meat-fest at Red's True BBQ in Liverpool.

How I have never been to this place before is beyond me as it's a meat lovers heaven.

The decor is crazy, the restaurant is themed as an old, retro style American smokehouse which is very cool. Think wood cladding everywhere and lots of tin things.

Yes, that's a truck in the air!

We went late on a Friday afternoon, which luckily for us was just before the rush of Friday night. We were seated in a booth and talked through the menu which consists of meat, meat and more meat (however there was a bean burger for Rob so he was happy).

I had so much to choose from, I loved that you could pick your meat in what they call "Barbecue Trays" and then you can select your side dishes too. I opted for the Brisket & Burnt Ends with skin-on fries and sweet potato corn bread.....

Black Angus Brisket & Burnt Ends £16.95
"Black Angus brisket and thrice smoked Burnt Ends with sliced white onion, pickles, sliced fresh jalapeƱos and white bread."
This massive stack of meat was perfectly cooked, it was tasty and succulent and the burnt ends were super smokey! I wasn't too keen on the corn bread which was incredibly sweet but even without the corn bread I was absolutely stuffed.

They have stacks of authentic smokey sauces on the table for you to choose from too and as your food is literally served in a tin tray you can get messy and test out all of the sauces squirting a dollop here there and everywhere.

I really enjoyed the food here but I also enjoyed the decor, especially in the bathroom where the theme continued.....

If you like meat, get yourself to your nearest Red's True BBQ where you can try and put yourself into a delicious meat coma.
