REVIEW: Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight

If you follow me on Instagram (@emsmixedbag) you will know I recently had my hair cut. For me, getting my hair cut is a big thing as my previous experiences with hairdressers has been that they are scissor happy maniacs, but this time I was extremely happy with my new hairdresser, Jade, at Soul Hair Cafe in Chester.

I am always on the look out for a product that tames my frizz. I have used many, many different serums which have all been OK, but nothing has blown me away, so I asked Jade what she would recommend.

Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight RRP £23.00 for 150ml
"Progressively straightens curls with every use. As you blow-dry your hair, plant-derived fibres help create a locking layer to help hold your hair straight, day after day. Organic cassava root helps form a barrier against intense humidity to help you forget about frizz. Straight styling becomes faster and easier. After 5 consecutive applications of naturally straight, hair will stay straight for up to 3 washes."

Because I bought this product from the hairdresser I got an amazing price of £18.00 which I was really happy with however if your local salon doesn't stock Aveda you can find it from places such as Debenhams, Look Fantastic and other websites online.

I have been using this product after every wash for the past 2 weeks and I can report back that I am 100% noticing a difference in my hair. My hair is naturally frizzy and if I leave it to dry naturally it is slightly curly. Since using this I have noticed a lot less frizz and I am having to straighten it a lot less, which is a huge bonus for me as my hair is extremely thick and takes bloody hours to straighten properly.

HOW TO USE

  • Towel-dry your hair
  • Use about a 1p coins size amount of product and distribute over your hair evenly
  • Use a brush and blow dryer to straighten hair

It's that simple. I would definitely recommend investing in good quality hair products as, up until recently, I hadn't really bothered, I would just buy what was on offer in Boots but I am converted to higher end hair products as the difference is huge.

Do you scrimp on hair products or are you happy to pay that bit extra?
