Our Holiday To Fuerteventura - Katis Boutique Villas

If you follow me on Instagram (@emsmixedbag) you will know that last month I went on holiday to the gorgeous Canary Island, Fuerteventura. I have visited the island before when I was a kid but I don't really remember much about it apart from the sand dunes so it was really exciting to go there as an adult!

I wanted to share with you the place we had stayed in as it was outstanding, and so many people on Instagram messaged me asking where it was.

My white legs on the first day!

My boyfriend and I wanted a quiet holiday where we could really relax and thought if we booked a villa we would have complete relaxation - no getting up for breakfast at a certain time, eating meals at certain times and just generally having the space and privacy to do what ever we wanted. We spent quite some time searching through many, many different websites trying to find 'the one' as we had some strict criteria.....

- Private pool
- Wifi
- Close to amenities but not in the middle of everything
- Comfy sofa (I know this sounds bonkers but who wants to relax on a hard/small sofa in the evening?!)
- A large bed
- Modern
- Light and spacious

So eventually Rob found THE perfect place.....

Katis Boutique Villa, Correlejo, Fuerteventura

"KATIS is a new concept of Villas “Boutique” located next to the Natural Park of dunes and turquoise waters, in the complex called “Bahiazul". With a warm and relaxed atmosphere it aims to give guests the taste of simplicity in their choice of Villas. As we have fewer than 20 rooms we can offer individual attention to our guests, catering for their specific needs."
Our villa was MASSIVE, bigger than our house! It had 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a large living/dining/kitchen area, a private swimming pool with outdoor dining area and sun-loungers, a roof terrace with a hot tub, another dining area on the roof with a BBQ oven and even more loungers!

We could not have been happier. The villa had literally everything you needed for a very comfortable stay. All the small extras made it really welcoming and stress free, for example, simple things like washing up liquid, dish washer tablets, water, ice cubes etc were in the kitchen for us and toiletries in the bathrooms as well as bathroom towels and beach towels too.

Everything was comfortable, the bed, the sofas, the sun loungers - everything. Not only is this an ideal place for couples but for families with children too. The complex is a 5 minute drive from the main town of Corralejo and the villas are in a walled complex with security guards at the entrance making it feel very safe and private. It was everything we wanted and more.

Prices do vary quite a lot depending on when you book and which villa you book as they do different sizes and styles, however I looked at prices for August, the most expensive time of year, and they are around £250 per night, making a weeks stay approximately £1750 for 6 people (around £300 per person) which I think is a great price for a 5* villa in an amazing location.

Corralejo is a lovely town to visit. It has a vast range of sandy beaches as well as a pretty harbour.

The town has a great mix of lively and relaxed bars, restaurants and shops, there is definitely something for everyone. We ate out on quite a few occasions and would highly recommend Don Bigote (Italian), H20 Vegan Juice Bar (Vegan friendly lunch and juices), Namaste (Indian) and La Scarpetta da Mario (Italian) for delicious food! We also went to a very quirky shisha bar called LaFreddy Shisha Lounge for drinks and an obligatory holiday shisha. There are SO many different places to choose from for an afternoon coffee, tasty food and evening drinks.

If you want to explore the island is a 'different' way I would recommend contacting Correlejo Buggies. They will take you on a fun filled tour of the island, you get to see lots of different areas you wouldn't usually see on foot or just driving around on the roads, such as volcanoes, hidden villages, lagoons, beaches and other beautiful scenery, however I would recommend wearing a very good bra and you need to be very prepared to get dirty!

We had an amazing time in Fuerteventura and would definitely go back again in the future!

Have you ever visited the Canary Islands?
