MAC Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage

I have to admit that I have never tried a MAC skin care product, not even their foundations, I'm not sure why I have just never really been drawn to them in any way however MAC recently had some samples available of their Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage so I applied to test it out.

MAC Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage RRP £21.00 for 30ml.

I received these cute samples this week and I have used them twice already. The product is said to calm and sooth the skin as well as making foundation easier to apply.....
"An ultra-fluid lotion formulated with special-effect silicone's. Calms and soothes the skin, blots away excess oil, and evens out skin redness. Improves the lay down and application of foundation or powder."

When I first applied the primer to the back of my hand I noticed it had a very slight shimmer to it and the texture seemed extremely soft and light, and when blending the product it really did feel soft and evened out my skin tone. I applied my makeup as normal over the top and didn't really notice that it made it any easier to apply my foundation, it was just the same as usual.

After wearing the product for approximately an hour I noticed a not so nice greasy film appearing on my skin, now yes, I do have oily skin but this seemed to irritate my skin and my skin really didn't like it, I felt like my foundation was sliding around my face and even with blotting/applying powder the product kept giving me a shine that I didn't want.

I am usually a big MAC fan, I love their lipsticks, but this product is definitely not for me or my oily skin, I expect a primer to help my make up last all day, this did the opposite for me and helped get rid of my makeup quickly. I will not be repurchasing, sorry MAC.

Have you tried this product or any other skincare from MAC?
