My First Hair Cut In 7 Years - Brooklyn Hair Salon Chester.....

Yes, you read the title right, it's been 7 years since I have had my hair cut. I was put off hairdressers for a long time because of one scissor happy lady. I was 18 and wanted a change from my long boring hair so asked if she could take it up to my shoulders.....

I came out with a short short bob! I was mortified and being quite quiet when I was younger I didn't say a word to her and just sobbed on the way home, but recently I have been chatting on Twitter to Matt who has opened Brooklyn Salon in Chester which is located above his Brooklyn Barber shop. Matt asked me if I would like to come and have my hair done by them when the salon was open, so I agreed.

I was welcomed by a lady called Mel and quickly introduced to Katie who would be doing my hair for me, both of them made me feel welcome and at ease. I had a look around the New York themed salon which has been decorated beautifully with a mix of old vintage items and new fixtures and fittings.....

So, Katie then chatted to me about what I wanted to have done, I didn't want to go too short, putting it politely I DID NOT WANT A BOB! Apart from that I just wanted some shape to my hair, and I couldn't be more happy with the results.

BEFORE.....

I knew I had long hair but this photo was a shock, how had I left it like this for so long?!?!

AFTER.....

I absolutely love it! Katie did a fantastic job and made me feel so comfortable, I think she likes to talk just as much as me so the time flew by! I am that happy that I have booked in for a colour done in 4 weeks as Katie noticed my botched at home colour job was, how do I put this, bloody awful!

I will definitely be spreading the word about this gorgeous little salon and I will not be letting my hair get too long and unloved again!

Thank you Matt for getting in touch with me.

What do you think guys?

  4. Love it! Your hair was gorgeous before, but now its even nicer :-)

I have a love hate relationship with the hairdressers - as a kid I always got my hair cut too short and as its curly it would look terrible. No matter how much I would beg not to cut too much, they would and it would end in tears, Its put me off the hairdressers for life. Now I have hair loss, I hate going as I am so conscious of how thin my hair is - I only go to one girl as I trust her and she knows about my hair loss.

  7. OMG HOW LONG WAS YOUR HAIR?! I'm privilege to have a wonderful mummy hairdresser who does my hair. She did cut me a fringe and made me cry when I was a little girl though :p

  8. Your hair looks incredible, it definitely needed some off the ends and they did just the right amount without losing too much length (I LOVE long hair, I'm so jealous!) and she styled it so nicely. Looks beautiful! xx
