A Cheaper Alternative To Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know I swear by my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, for a full review CLICK HERE.

But recently I have moved house and got myself a dog, Darcy (who I will post a pic of at the bottom of these posts as everyone has been asking about her), so I have been trying to save a bit of cash where I can, so when I recently ran out of my much loved Estee Lauder Double Wear, which costs £26.50 per bottle, I started to search for a cheaper alternative.

And I came across this.....

Maxfactor Facefinity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 foundation in shade Warm Almond RRP £12.99

Now Warm Almond sounds like it would be too dark for me as I usually still to the porcelain shades but it was the 2nd lightest shade and when I tested it on my hand it was a perfect match. When I use Double Wear I use the second lightest shade called Ecru.

Before even putting it on my face it has one up on Double Wear as this foundation comes with a pump, which Double Wear doesn't. You can buy a pump from Estee Lauder but as the foundation already costs £26.50 I think it should at least come with a pump!

I have done a before and after picture of my cheek, as my skin has been quite blotchy recently, so you can see the coverage.

BEFORE

AFTER

This Maxfactor foundation gives a medium coverage but can be built to a full coverage when you apply more, but using too much can give you a cakey effect. The matte finish matches my skin perfectly and it lasts all day without going oily or patchy.

I have to say the Maxfactor doesn't feel as heavy on the skin as Estee Lauder's Double Wear which is a huge bonus, I hate the heavy feeling of foundation, this is the main difference in the foundations, oh and the price!

What do you think? Have you tried this Maxfactor foundation?

Here's a picture of my cheeky little girl Darcy, my lovely friend Nardine sent Darcy a goody box full of wonderful things.....

We left Darcy for not even 10 minutes with her new toys and this is what we found.....

Very cute, yes, very mischievousness, YES!

  2. Destructive Darcy pic makes me smile everytime I see it, I am still trying to get a sample of Double wear as I really want to try it, Robert threw away the sample I found in a mag he thought it was rubbish, I wasn't happy lol. The Max factor one does look good though but I do need a really good coverage as I have a few dark marks and scars which I need to cover xxxx
